What is Raspberry PI
Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized Linux-based computer built for teaching computing concepts in schools. This is intended to be a low-cost educational platform to be used in teaching context to eliminate barriers of entry due to price.
It was designed and developed by Raspberry Foundation in 2011. It owes its inspiration to BBC Micro which spawned tremendous interest in hobbyist experimentation and tinkering. It was released in May 2012 and since then it has sold more than 1M units.
It is based on SoC from Broadcom. It contains an ARM based CPU at 700Mhz, and a GPU. The GPU is capable of HD quality video playback, using H.264.
Comes in two flavors Model A and Model B
Both Models have similar specifications
